Maxeen Botha, a Grade 8 learner at Noorder Paarl High School and member of the Patrick Ross Karate Academy, recently took part in the 1st Shito-Ryu Championship in Gauteng. She qualified last August for the championship, with three gold medals, respectively for Kumite, Kata and Unison. Maxeen also recently represented Noorder Paarl in the school karate tournament and the national schools championship, where she received a silver medal for both of her performances. The school is very proud of her.
