Jayle-Rose Ringquest (9) from Ebenezer Primary School and a karate student of Etienne Marais Karate Academy recently competed in the National Children’s Cadet and Junior Karate Championships held in Cape Town. In this competition she finished third, and will represent Western Cape at the Karate South Africa League 1 Championships in Bloemfontein. At the end of March, as part of the updated national rankings, she was ranked first in the Kata and eighth in the Kumite nationally in her category and age group (8-9 years old).
