Five young Boland fly fishers will travel to the Czech Republic twice this year to represent South Africa in international fly fishing tournaments.

The boys joined
the top 16 youth from around the country who had been invited to trials to fight for a position in the international Protea squad, or the Saffa (South African Fly Fishing Association) team, all based on a two-year ranking. All five Boland boys have made the national squad.

The squad will travel to the Czech Republic, where the Protea team will compete in the 18th World Fly Fishing Championships (http://ffch.cz/en/) in Vyssi Brod from 10 to 17 August.

But before then, the Saffa team will also compete in the Czech Youth International from 11-12 May in the same area.

Any young anglers wishing to join Boland Fly Fishing can email the club at louisdejager.acs@gmail.com.
