Featuring some of SA’s biggest names in music, the first Paarl Jam, a two-day outdoor music festival, is set to take place during this year’s Premier Interschools on Friday 2 and Saturday 3 August on the banks of the Berg River, just walking distance from all the sporting action.

The stellar line-up of acts includes Night Sky Zombies, Noblemen, BRYNN, The Kiffness, Prime Circle, Francois van Coke and Springbok Nude Girls.

Paarl Jammers can expect two days of non-stop entertainment for the whole family, coupled with good food, cold beer on tap, local wines and, of course, live streaming of the interschool fixtures.

Bok Radio will keep the crowd entertained and the festival vibe going during the day until the live music programme kicks off early evening.

Gates open at 10:00 each day, to give festival goers ample opportunity to find the perfect spot to revel in the music, relax on the sprawling lawns, enjoy the food and bars or just watch the rugby on the big screens with a cold one. With an extensive children’s entertainment programme running during the day, Paarl Jam will offer something fun for everyone.

The organisers are offering a free shuttle service (route TBC) as part of their drink responsibly initiative and they have provided a dedicated drop-off and collect area for Uber and taxis.

Ticket options are varied so that visitors can find their perfect festival fit, from single-day admission to weekend passes, family-friendly options and VIP experiences. Paarl Jam is a cashless festival, so festival goers will need to buy a credit before purchasing any food or drinks. Credit can be purchased with your ticket online or at the event.

No drinks or food are to be brought into the festival area. Support local food trucks/stalls, and buy drinks from the bar. No gazebos, chairs or umbrellas allowed. For more: www.paarljam.com and buy tickets via www.howler.co.za/PaarlJam19.

  • One lucky Paarl Post reader can win two VIP weekend pass tickets, which includes VIP parking and a R100 voucher, and one reader can win four weekend pass tickets to the Paarl Jam. Just SMS the name of the festival to 066 484 3728 before 12:00 today.
