The Drakenstein Dragons Chess Club in Wellington finished second in a gruelling Western Province Chess League. A total of 11 rounds were hosted over a six-week period, and featured some formidable clubs. The Drakenstein Dragons Chess Club was promoted twice during their three encounters in the provincial league. During 2023 the club will be playing in the B division.
