The Paarl police issued yet another warning to the public who make use of ATMs at the malls and in the CBD area to be alert at all times.
Spokesperson Capt Louise du Plessis shared characteristics of these usual suspects to beware of.
“The suspects are neatly dressed black males who work in teams of two or more. The suspects often mention that the ATM is either new, or broken and always insist on helping their victims.”
She appeals to all cash users to be aware of your surroundings at all times.
“If you become the least bit suspicious of someone, report it to a security official or have someone keep a lookout for you when withdrawing cash at that specific ATM.”
