Do you remember one of SA’s most successful bands, the Staccatos, and their hit song, “Cry to Me”, sung by one of their lead singers, Steve Ashley?

Then you must attend Ashley’s show Tribute to Tom Jones & Friends on Saturday 6 July at Die Bôrdienghuis Theatre at the Breytenbach Centre in Wellington.

Renowned for his world-class exhibition of pure pitching, vocal power, unique style, dynamic stage personality, surreal humour and flamboyant, theatrical performances, Ashley possesses a singing style, appearance and voice strikingly similar to that of Sir Tom Jones.

The show covers decades of smash hits by Jones and friends Engelbert Humperdinck, Elvis Presley, Michael Bolton and Neil Diamond.

Some of these the audience can look forward to include Jones’ “Green Green Grass of Home”, “Help Yourself”, “It’s not Unusual”, “What’s new Pussycat”, “Love me Tonight”,“Sexbomb” and “I’ll never fall in love again”, and Humperdinck’s “Man without Love”, “Please Release Me” and “Last Waltz”, Michael Bolton’s “When I’m Back on my feet again” and “Suspicious Minds”.

The show starts at 20:00 and pizzas, wine and other drinks will be available from 18:00. Tickets, at R120 pp, and can be booked at teater@breytenbachsentrum.co.za or 021 873 2786.
