And with hard work and perseverance, Horn is now the owner and travel consultant of Selena Travel in Sea Point, Cape Town.
Originally from Wellington, she brings 18 years of travel experience to the table.
Nadia’s journey to realising her dream of travelling has taken a lot of hard work and dedication – but, she adds, it has been worth every moment.
Her first job was on weekends and holidays in a supermarket while she studied tourism at PC Training.
“But that was a perfect platform for me to gain customer care and selling skills and experience, a very important aspect of my work today,” says Nadia.
After her studies she worked at tourist offices, a museum and then at various travel agencies, where she broadened her skills especially in organising international trips.
And in 2012 she opened Selena Travel Agency.
Through her very busy schedule, Nadia still finds time to give back to the community by being involved in Child Welfare development projects, as well as delivering travel magazines to schools for students’ art/history/geography projects.
Nadia’s passion is for people and travel, and Selena Travel Agency gives her the opportunity to combine the two while sharing her love for travel with her customers.
