An Argentine-tango dance event will take place on Sunday 28 May at Die Boekklub on the ridge of Helshoogte Pass, Pniël.
This event, which takes place from 15:00 to 19:00, is open to everyone. Spectators are welcome, however experienced dancers from the surrounding area as well as the CBD and southern suburbs will be joining.
The event starts with a lesson by two expert dancers, one of them visiting from Istanbul.
Additionally there will be a live music performance by Alberto and Silvia Otero from Porteños SA. Together, they take listeners on a musical journey through Buenos Aires, shedding light on tango’s diverse roots and sensual nature. They perform arrangements of iconic tango songs, bringing their Argentinian heritage to South African audiences.
Alberto Otero, an accomplished guitarist, was introduced to the tango scene at a young age, playing for well-known Buenos Aires groups and solo singers with his father. Silvia Otero is a talented singer with years of experience in different outfits of various genres.
