The hills of the Simonsberg will once again come alive this winter with rhythmic sounds, and the taste of traditional cheese fondue will be on everyone’s lips when Live Music Sundays comes to Delheim Wine Estate. Starting on Sunday 7 July and ending 25 August, each Sunday afternoon will see a different live performance on the estate, featuring a diverse array of musicians and styles.
This eclectic programme will range from traditional Bavarian and German music and jazz to contemporary pop covers, with a bit of romantic French tossed in for good measure.
As per every musical season at Delheim shows will be accompanied by the estate’s popular cheese fondue with traditional Gluhwein served on arrival. The lunch also includes an appetiser before the hearty fondue, coffee and dessert. Delheim’s range of award-winning wines will be available for purchase at cellar-door prices. These events begin at 12.00 and end at 15.00.

7 July: Hungarian Trio (traditional French) – a relaxed, enjoyable yet classy ambiance for all special occasions. Romance, and excitement as our popular strolling musicians serenade guests Hungarian-style.
14 July: Adolf Thelen (traditional German/Bavarian/Swiss Music)
21 July: Hugo Veldsman (contemporary classics) – Hugo Veldsman’s song writing career started in the small student town of Stellenbosch. His folk-like sound is emphasised by his skills as a classically trained guitarist (having studied Music at the Stellenbosch Conservatory) and often incorporating Blues roots. His incorporation of the lapsteel guitar became a favoured instrument in his arsenal, especially his signature Imperial Weissenborn.
28 July: The Nick Ford Project (jazz) Nick Ford is a Cape Town bassist and composer. His music ensemble presents he’s inspired South African jazz sound to the world.
4 August: Hungarian Trio (gypsy)
11 August: The Schalk Joubert Quartet (pop, rock, jazz) – An internationally acclaimed bassist and composer known for he’s fusion of local styles with pop, rock and jazz, Schalk will be teaming up with Blake Hellaby on piano and Muneeb Hermans on the trumpet. The quartet will be played by the German drummer pascal Haas. They will perform a selection of original music as well as some of SA’s finest compositions.
18 August: Hugo Veldsman (contemporary classics).
