The Allan Gray Orbis Foundation, a member of the Allan & Gill Gray Philanthropies, is calling on eligible Grade 6 learners across South Africa to apply for its High School Scholarship Programme before the application deadline on 16 September.

The Scholarship Programme offers high-school entrepreneurial scholarships to learners who have a curious entrepreneurial mindset, the potential to excel academically and are financially deserving. Scholarship recipients receive funding to enrol at leading high schools across the country, in addition to support and interventions that develop their entrepreneurial talents.

To be considered for the programme Grade 6 learners must exhibit a genuine interest in entrepreneurship or business ownership. The programme offers comprehensive funding, comprehensive support and interventions aimed at honing their entrepreneurial skills.

Application requirements include showing an interest in becoming an entrepreneur, where the applicant must obtain a minimum overall average of 70% for all subjects in Grade 5 and 6, be a South African citizen and clearly demonstrate financial need (their household income must not exceed a monthly gross income of R20 000, including business revenue).
