South Africa’s first Methode Cap Classique Vermentino has just been launched at Ayama Vineyards in the Paardeberg near Paarl. Ayama was also the first vineyard in the country to plant Vermentino vines, a very popular Italian cultivar. Here Ayama’s winemaker, Chiara Fabietti, poses proudly with Africa’s first Vermentino MCC at its official launch last weekend at Ayama’s Lekker Italy Christmas Festival on the farm.
