SA music and Czech art in Wellington

South African singer and songwriter Gerald Clark will be back at the Breytenbach Centre in Wellington on Saturday 5 May.


South African singer and songwriter Gerald Clark will be back at the Breytenbach Centre in Wellington on Saturday 5 May.

This time he’ll appear with his brand new trio as well as Czech artist and partner, Radka Bartosikova, for her first exhibition in South Africa.

Their paths crossed at the end of 2016, when Clark was on tour in the Czech Republic and Bartosikova was visiting her family. She has lived in the UK for four years and started painting when she moved there. She has always been creative, but sold her first piece when she moved to England. She has sold more than 40 paintings worldwide as a part-time artist.

Come and enjoy world-class art, music and wine. The exhibition is free and will start at 11:00. Bartosikova will give a small talk about herself and her art at 12:00.

Wine and gin will be available to enjoy as well as woodfired pizza and a food truck. Clark and his trio will play at 14:00 in the courtyard, weather permitting, or inside the theatre. Tickets for the show are R140 per person and can be booked at teater@breytenbachsentrum.co.za or on 021 873 2786.
