Be sure to spend as much time as possible in the outdoors during October, the most beautiful month.
On Saturday 8 October, the Spring edition of the Sunset to Full Moon Hike at Muratie will take place from Dirtopia Trail Centre, promising breathtaking views of the Winelands as you hike to the look-out at the foot of Simonsberg. It is only a 3,5 km circular route, and it is do-able by all ages and fitness levels!
Sunday 9 October will see a social mountain bike ride from Muratie and everyone is welcome, as there will be three levels of groups riding. Permit fees are only R60 per person and the Farm Kitchen will be open for breakfasts and lunches. Shower facilities and bike wash available at the Trail Centre.
On Sunday 23 October at Dornier Wine Estate all trail runners can celebrate the wildflowers near Stellenbosch on this stunning wine farm with the Blooming Trail Run! Choose from an 10 km or a 5 km route.
Medals to all finishers and a refreshment station on the routes and at the finish line.
Any mountain bikers need to improve their technical skills on the trails? Then contact info@dirtopia.co.za to book for a coaching session with David Hogan. The morning of 16 October there will be a Fundamental class first, then a technical one and then for intermediate level riders. With a good talk session first and then on the trails.
End the month off by having a cackling good time running through the eerie and enchanted Muratie forest at the Halloween Forest Night Run presented by Sportsmans Warehouse on Saturday 29 October. So put on your scariest costume and have a fang-tastic night running this 10 km or 5 km trail run with friends & family. Starting from 07.15, just as the sun rises. Bring your headlamp!
Special surprises, not only medals plus décor, trick or treat and delicious food & wine, but LIVE music from local artists MixTape band. Muratie is the perfect venue, with its historic feel and old-world charm. Inside the wine tasting centre there are cobwebs and dark corners to add to the theme.
