The Western Cape police management together with Cassel Charlie (CC) Mathale, national deputy minister of police, visited Mbekweni on Friday (3 May). Their visit was part of a community imbizo led by the South African Police Service. During the gathering members of the public were given the opportunity to speak up about the crime-related issues they are facing in the community. Various police agencies such as the Hawks, Family Violence, Child Protection and Sexual Offences (FCS) and the Independent Police Investigating Directorate (IPID) were also present informing the community of the agencies’ roles within the police.Photo: Chantélle Hartebeest
