Every child born with Down syndrome deserves a quality education, says Elize Greyling (right), teacher at the Club 21 school in Paarl, seen here with Rotarians Vernon Els and Marita van der Sluys (president of Paarl Rotary). People with Down syndrome have an extra number 21 chromosome. Club 21 is a non-profit learning centre that specialises and caters exclusively for the education and development of people with the condition. Supporting, guiding and stimulating learners from a young age is imperative. It is within that critical time of engagement that children learn and discover their strengths and abilities, building the bridge to fundamental development. Club 21 learning centre’s specialised curriculum focuses on integrating the academic, physical, emotional, skills and social/life skills development of people with Down syndrome. They are located in the DR Agter-Paarl church hall in Windmeul. For more information, visit club21learningcentre.co.za or contact Elize on 083 287 6018 or contact admin@club21school.co.za.Foto:
