The Electronic Stability Programme (ESP) helps Baleno drivers remain in control of the car. This feature detects wheel slippage in wet or slippery conditions or sudden sharp turns, and automatically adjusts torque and brakes to help the driver maintain directional control.
More safety technology that comes with the Baleno include the Hill Hold Control, which prevents the car from rolling backwards when the driver releases the brake. In the event of emergency braking, the anti-lock braking system (ABS) prevents the wheels from locking and still allows the driver to continue steering the car.
The Baleno is also equipped with front airbags, with additional curtain airbags and side airbags on the GLX model. Rear parking ultra-sonic sensors that issue audio-visual warnings to the driver, are an added benefit.
