The Frank Pietersen Music Centre presents their annual Schools Extravaganza on Saturday 4 November at 15:00, when learners from various schools will get the opportunity to showcase their musical talents.
This year there are seven schools participating – New Orleans Primary School, Dalweide Primary School, Ebenezer Primary School, Charleston Hill Primary School, LK Zeeman Primary School and Noorder Paarl High School. To show the youngsters where their musical journey could be going, two of Frank Pietersen’s senior ensembles, the Senior Strings and the Senior Windband, will also perform.
These learners receive music classes at their schools during the day from Frank Pietersen Music Centre teachers.
Lessons are offered at schools where there is a need, and where music is not offered as a subject.
A festival such as this is deemed a wonderful opportunity for learners to perform in front of their family, friends, teachers and the broader community.
The concert takes place at the Frank Pietersen Music Centre in Sanddrift Street Noorder Paarl in the back quad. It will be an open air concert so people are advised to put on sunblock and hats.
Entry to the concert is free. Donations are welcome – all proceeds go to the Frank Pietersen Music Centre Bursary Fund.
