The Kids-Can Cancer Foundation, in association with charity Crew and Rose Events, invites the community to join in honouring the memory of the 300 or so young warriors who have lost their battles to cancer on Saturday (9 November).
The Memorial Day, which takes place at the Boy Louw Sports Ground, starts at 14:00. Entry costs R10 per person. The organisers intend this to be a memorial day with a difference, the lost lives remembered in a vibrant rather than a maudlin one. These will take the form of fun activities, food stalls, live DJ’s, a car show and a motorbike parade.
People are invited to bring an extra pair of shoes to donate to current cancer fighters and orphans.
