In a one-night-only viewing in Paarl the public is invited to watch the upcoming short film Mr Isaacs at MiniMax on Thursday 28 November.
Mr Isaacs is presented by Hartzenberg Films in association with Enrico Hartzenberg and Crystal Donna Roberts and stars award-winning actor Ayden Croy (Tauriq) and SAFTA Award nominee Marlon Swarts (Junior).
Mr Isaacs delves into the complex world of Tauriq, a talented young soccer player struggling to find employment, leading to feelings of emasculation and dependency on his successful wife, Aisha.
As Tauriq navigates his prolonged joblessness he seeks solace in soccer and friendship. However, a shocking betrayal leads to devastating consequences, culminating in Aisha’s untimely death.
This thought-provoking film explores themes of toxic masculinity, identity and the destructive power of unchecked emotions. Tauriq’s inner turmoil is compounded by a dark family secret: his father’s adultery.
“We’re honoured to collaborate with talented actors Ayden Croy and Marlon Swarts to bring this critical story to life,” says Enrico Hartzenberg, co-director and producer. Mr Isaacs sparks essential conversations about masculinity, relationships and the consequences of our actions.”
The movie starts at 19:30 and tickets are R150 and available at 021 872 0714.
