On Saturday 11 March, around 16:30, emergency services were dispatched to Du Toits Kloof Lodge after a female hiker had fallen and injured her leg. Due to the patient’s problematic location and her injuries it was determined that removing her by ambulance was impossible, so the Western Cape Air Mercy Service was summoned. A safe landing zone was created for the helicopter and the patient, after treatment at the scene by the crews, including Priority Care Ambulance Services, was transported to hospital in a stable condition.
