The Komesho Shellhole, situated in Wellington, donated R5 000 to the Cinder City Shellhole, situated in Port Shepstone, KwaZulu-Natal (KZN), for its project to construct a museum to preserve the heritage, regalia and artefacts of the Memorable Order of Tin Hats (Moths), an ex-serviceman’s organisation founded in Durban in May 1927, which includes former police personnel. It is based on principles of peace, concord and harmony, and operates independently of race, religion, politics or language. Once completed, the prospective museum will be the only one of its kind in Southern KZN. The Deputy Old Bill of Komesho Shellhole Moth, Michael Wilmot (left), handed the cheque and a gift over to Cinder City Adjutant Moth Koos Prinsloo. The Komesho Shellhole meets on the second Sunday of each month, from 11:15 to 12:15, at the Wellington Bowls Club. “Old soldiers” interested in joining the group or companies wishing to support the Shellhole bowls or golf days are welcome to contact Old Bill Schalk Bruwer on 082 820 0875.
