The Allan Grey Investment Company is offering an Entrepreneurship Challenge, which is a gamified learning platform to educate learners about entrepreneurship.
The entrepreneurship challenge is a five week competition that is aimed at high school learners across the country, with around 10 000 learners taking part from roughly 1 000 schools.
The challenge is aimed at preparing youth to survive in the ever-changing world of business and for learners to graduate with the mindset of an entrepreneur, rather than that of an employee.
The themes for the 2019 challenges are, food security, fourth industrial revolution, universal healthcare, affordable housing and mindset. The game is available as both a mobile and web app, which delivers a series of micro-challenges. The challenges see high school learners applying new knowledge or concepts in real world situations. They then submit evidence of their experience into the system which can be reviewed by participating learners, moderated by teachers and fed into the scoring system.
Spot prizes are on offer each week for the best submissions. The top 20 learners will be flown to the national awards evening and the top 3 will be flown to Singapore, to explore the entrepreneural ecosystem.
Schools are required to register online between 1 August and 1 September at entrepreneurshipchallenge.co.za. The Allan Grey Entrepreneurship Challenge begins Monday 2 September. For more info see the AGEC Showcase Video.
