While holidaying in South Africa, specifically the Cape Winelands, our three and a half month old baby boy became seriously ill.
On advice we first took him to Medicross in Paarl and were very quickly seen to by Dr Joubert. On taking one look at our baby, he advised us immediately to rush him to Mediclinic Paarl.
Dr Joubert alerted the hospital of our situation and upon arrival, we were rushed through to the paediatric department, without first having to fill in forms with proof of medical aid or insurance, etc.
The staff received us professionally and with open arms in this very nerve- racking situation.
Our baby was quickly seen to by a paediatrician, Dr du Toit, and given the best medical care. For the next two nights and three days we were in Mediclinic, while our boy was being treated.
When I eventually had to go to the administrative department to complete our paper work, everyone there was extremely helpful and efficient.
We live in France and really did not expect the level of healthcare that we received at Mediclinic Paarl. This was not a nice situation to be in on the eve of Christmas, but we are astounded by the great service we received from all.
Thank you to everyone who were involved, and you will be pleased to hear that, thanks to the great medical treatment received, our baby has bounced back and is in great shape!
