The Facebook group “Water Shortage South Africa” was started to coordinate water drop-off points in drought-stricken areas in South Africa. Two drop-off points have been identified in Paarl and Wellington.
Residents can donate purchased, tap or borehole water to Leana Koekemoer in 5 Marais Street, Wellington, or in Paarl to Sanet du Toit at Diesel Electric in Textile Street. Contact Koekemoer at 081 419 9732 or Du Toit at 082 387 8549. Water bottles must be marked with “DW” for drinking water and “TW” for tank, tap or rainwater for sanitary or animal use. Empty containers are also welcomed.
