Raidan Michiel, Grade 4 learner at Van Wyksvlei Primary School in Wellington and member at the Drakenstein Dragons Chess Club, obtained his SA Colours with a final score of 6½ out of 9 at the SA Junior Closed Chess Championship in Benoni. It was held in March. He obtained a fourth place there. He has now qualified to take part in the African Youth Tournament to be held in Namibia in December as well as the Commonwealth Chess Championships.
