The Frank Pietersen Music Centre (FPMC) celebrates its 50th anniversary in 2020 and will be commemorating years of growth and prosperity in many colourful ways throughout the year. The centre’s next celebratory event is an open air music festival on 14 March at the FPMC grounds in Sanddrift Street, where the stage will be shared by several outfits from Paarl and surrounds. The teacher at the helm of the programme, Inge Wittenberg, has invited, among others, Boys’ High Orchestra and Drum line, the Ronnie Samaai Music Project Orchestras, Steenberg High School Symphonic Orchestra and the Hugo Lambrechts Strings to share the stage with the FPMC orchestras and bands. Festival goers will also be entertained by local soloists while enjoying sustenance from various food stalls. The programme is from 16:00 until about 21:00, with gates opening at 15:00. Entrance is R50 for adults and R20 for learners and pensioners. Foto:
