Mandela Day saw many communities building bridges and reaching out to one another. As the catering team at Magnolia Primary School in Paarl East prepared pots of soup to share with the school community, Grade 6 and 7 learners from Paarl Girls High School prepared more than 1 000 sandwiches for learners of Magnolia Primary School, as part of their school’s Reach Out programme. They are also spending an hour a week with the Grade 3 learners of Magnolia Primary, assisting with reading and mathematics.
