A 12 week course focusing on project management and supply chain and logistics management will take place from 29 July to 14 October at De Poort in Paarl.
The course, certified by The Independent Institute of Education (IIE) and endorsed by the Chartered Institute of Business Management (CIBM), will take place on Saturdays.
Project Management has become a critical operational tool for any manager who has to meet tight deadlines with limited resources. Managing short lead times and on-time delivery systems is a distinctive business competence. The application of project management principles and techniques will help virtually any business improve its performance. This short learning programme (SLP) focuses on project management techniques in the context of planning and implementing successful projects through effective people management.
Theoretical content is balanced with a strong accent on practical application.
Any manager or aspirant manager whose position requires the planning and completion of projects in the shortest possible time, the containment of costs within project budgets, the responsibility of ensuring that quality specifications are met and the co-ordination and control of those activities necessary for the completion of projects, can attend.
The programme also caters for those who wish to enter the field of logistics and supply chain as a career, those already in the field that have not had the benefit of formal training and wish to broaden their perspective, those who aspire to become logistics or supply chain managers and those who, while not exclusively involved in the logistics and supply chain functions, nevertheless control or interface with it.
The course will be presented by The Business School at Varsity College. The Business School is a division of Varsity College, an educational brand of The Independent Institute of Education (Pty) Ltd (The IIE), and is registered as a Private Higher Education Institution with the Department of Education under the Higher Education Act 1997.
