These are the top Physical Sciences learners who excelled on a national level when they represented the Western Cape at the learners focus week at the University of Pretoria. During this week they were exposed to a variety of career opportunities in the energy sector. They also wrote a test based on science in energy and because of their outstanding achievements they received the following awards: Leighton Mattys, Grade 11 (at the back on left), third in the provincial round and received a laptop and a bursary from the Central Energy Fund (CEF) and Dylan Bailey, Grade 12 (at the back on the right), who, placed in the top 20 in the national round, received a laptop and bursary from Mulilo. Junior Mwasu, Gr 12 (in the middle at the back) and Miandre Warries, Gr 11 (front on the right), both received tablets because of their outstanding performance in the test. Shanice Nicholas (front left), Gr 11, was placed 6th in the provincial round and was awarded a laptop and bursary from Engen.
