Two
siblings of Paarl have taken the bull by the horns and ventured into the very
exciting arena of fitness and health entrepreneurship.
Sisters
Anlezia and Mandie Venter, both matriculants of La Rochelle Girls’ High School,
have opened fresh and vibrant new businesses in Southern Paarl.
Anlezia,
with her love for health and fitness, recently opened her second Body20 Studio,
a highly revolutionary fitness centre on the corner of Main Road and Station
Street.
Body20’s
training technology is a revolution in Electro Muscle Stimulation (EMS).
Designed in Germany and Hungary, they make use of the fastest growing fitness
devices globally. Body20 believes the technology supports the experience,
but service always comes first.
At Body20 a
full body and mass map is done in a couple of seconds on a very accurate hi-tec
bio-impedance analysis scale. This accesses your weight, body fat percentage,
skeletal muscle mass, bone density and more.
For the
average working person, juggling work and family, finding time to commit to
going to the gym regularly is a daunting task. But at Body20, 20 minutes is all
you need for a full body exercise session, once or twice a week, depending on
your goals. Twenty minutes of EMS training equals 4-6 hours of conventional
training due to the high amount of muscle contraction stimulated by the
bio-suit.
The results
of such regular sessions are impressive, for not they not only build strong,
lean muscles and tone the body, but they also effect weight loss. Anlezia’s
first client in Hermanus sports a new body and is 40 kg lighter than 10 months
ago. Nutrition plans and advice are also included in the membership to support
your health journey.
Anlezia
says she has a passion for health and fitness, and is very excited about having
a stake in the future quality of fitness in Paarl.
Right next
door to Body20 is sister Mandie’s vegan and Vegetarian bar Beetroot Bistro,
also a first for the Paarl Valley.
Mandie
realised the growing tendency of health and environmental awareness among
students, and started her venture from the student centre at Stellenbosch
University’s Neelsie.
Beetroot,
which was then known as Roots, went from strength to strength among students,
as many decided to choose the vegan lifestyle.
Mandie says
vegan and vegetarianism are not just another trend, but a lifestyle not only
benefiting the future of the planet, but it also has huge health benefits.
At Beetroot
even a hardened meat eater will be attracted by tasty offerings, such as vegan
bobotie and burger, Middle Eastern falafel, sweet potato curry, lentil
Bolognese, and much more. Delicious vegan breakfasts are also served as well as
the most delicious smoothies in the valley. And for the sweet tooth, the vegan
muffins, brownies and chocolate chip cookies are delicious.
Mandie also
stocks an array of vegan ingredients to take home, such as vegan sausages,
boerewors and burger patties, oats, almond and rice milk, and more.
“Veganism
has become very big especially since the younger generation realises it
needs to preserve the earth’s natural resources for future generations,” says
Mandie.
“But
veganism and vegetarian are by no means a boring diet. Apart from the many
health benefits, it is fun, exciting and delicious, and is also more affordable
than a meat-based diet.”
So visit
Beetroot and taste for yourself how delicious food can be without animal
products.
