A beautiful and unique book on Paarl, which can be described as a first of it’s kind photographic journey through this beautiful, historic town, was launched on Saturday (19 November).

In the centre of this book, Inside Paarl, is the photography of renowned photographer Greg Cox, together with Paul Duncan who meticulously researched the information in the book.

Local historians Len and Cathy Raymond offered their huge knowledge of the historical facts as well as the wonderful Gribble Collection of historic photographs that appear in the book.

And Novus Holdings, previously Paarl Media and with its roots in Paarl, did the printing and binding.

The aim of the book is to celebrate and respect the beauty of Paarl and to provide information to visitors and newcomers to town.

And in this digital age we are living in, it is to preserve Paarl on paper so that we can always remember what might disappear over time.

The launch was aptly held at the museum of JA Clift granite in Concordia Street, a corner stone of Paarls’ history.

Inside Paarl is available at Bargain Books in Paarl Mall.
