As IT engineer I find meter app lacking

I received a flyer on my car’s windshield at my house last week from the municipality informing me of the My Municipal Meter App, which one can now download and directly send your electricity and meter readings to.

I received a flyer on my car’s windshield at my house last week from the municipality informing me of the My Municipal Meter App, which one can now download and directly send your electricity and meter readings to.

This is good news, as my water meter was last read more than a year ago and the municipality just continues to thumb-suck readings.

But as an IT technician who works with apps as a livelihood I find this app seriously lacking and it seems as if it was designed by a juvenile.

Any such app should have a FAQ section to answer any queries about meter readings that the public may have. There is therefore no way to get in contact to ask questions.

Potential FAQs could be what to do if you cannot read or don’t have access to a meter. As in my case, and here the municipality also just thumb-sucks; I am sure I am not the only one battling with this.

So, with these basic inadequacies, I wonder if this APP is actually going to be accurate with our readings.
