We have lived across the road from the parking area at the back next to Game store in Paarl CBD for the past two years.
It is so disgusting, with rubbish everywhere, homeless people sleeping here, having sex, smoking dagga and tik right in front of us.
As you walk through the parking lot you can smell human faeces and more. Numerous people have also been robbed in this parking area.
I have discussed this problem with the managing agency, but to no avail. There is also no longer security here keeping the grounds safe, and it’s been like this for a couple of weeks now – I am not sure why.
I have complained to the municipality numerous times, but also with no good outcome or no reply at all.
This is not Lower Lady Grey Street, and if I lived there I would understand that the area would look like this, but I live in a residential area. Everyone living here has also complained about the situation surrounding the Game parking area, which includes Medicross, a dental surgery and psychologist.
Honestly we are all fed-up and really need an intervention.
We live in fear daily with all these druggies. For the past two weeks the situation has worsened, with the parking lot looking more like Bellville Train Station.
I didn’t move to Paarl to live in this mess, but because Paarl is a beautiful town with high standards. But looking across the road from me it looks far from it.
We have demanded that palisade fencing be installed to close the parking lot off after business hours, which could hopefully keep the area clean and free of criminal activities.
It is honestly shocking that Game can run a business with such a mess around them and that they do not intervene themselves to keep up their brand name.
